2 Months Old

Anthony turned 2 months old on Friday. To celebrate he had his two month well visit at the Dr. He had to get three vaccines in his cute chubby legs! I was surprised at how big the needles are! He was a trooper and only cried for thirty seconds after the nurse finished. He also had to take a vaccine orally, the nurse said she's never had a baby take it so well. What can I say my little man likes to eat. Anthony weighed in at 12lbs 9 oz and is 23 in long. He has gained almost 5 lbs since birth!!
Last night Anthony slept in his crib for the first time. He went down at 8:30 woke up at 2:30 to eat went back down at 3:00 and woke up at 6:30. This was the first night that he wasn't sleeping in his bassinet beside me. It was definitely harder on me than him. Luckily, our baby monitor is amazing and you can hear the baby breathing through it. AMAZING!

8 weeks

I haven't updated this blog in almost a month... Anthony will be 8 weeks old this Sunday. Doesn't he look thrilled?
One of his new favorite things to do is play in the tub!

He has been a little fussy in the past couple weeks...

but it is all worth it to see this smile!

Here is a video of him playing and cooing today on his mat...

For comparison here is a picture of him about 4 weeks ago in the same outfit when the pants were actually pants and not shorts. I can't believe how much he has grown.

He has his 2 month Dr appointment next week I can't wait to find out how much he weighs and how long he is. Anyone care to take a guess?

Where did the time go?

I am one month old today! How did I spend my time?

I made my grand debut into the world...
slept...

did some of this...
slept...

visited with family and friends...

slept...

found out what happens when I get left alone with Daddy...

We love you Anthony!

Check out my crib

Well I must say I am in shock. As many of you know Anthony has told us exactly where we can shove his bassinet. He refuses to sleep in it especially at night. We can get him to sleep in his swing, but even then at night we're lucky if he'll sleep in it over an hour. Today I decided to try putting him down in his crib. He has been sleeping peacefully for over an hour! Here's a video to prove that I am not a big fat liar :)

Two weeks notice

Now that Anthony is two weeks old he has been having much more alert time. Here's a video of him playing on his mat. He's not loving tummy time, but he likes playing on his back.

See ya stump

Check it out! Anthony lost his belly button stump today and what a cute belly button it is.

What does this all mean? It means no more folding diapers over and no more sponge baths!

Those chicken legs are all Nick.

In case you're wondering we did not save the stump.

Welcome!

5am on Saturday morning I jumped out of bed, which is hard to do at 9 months pregnant. Nick woke up and wanted to know if everything was ok. I told him yes, but my water broke. He wanted to go to the hospital right away. I tried explaining that we had plenty of time since I wasn't having any contractions. I called my obgyn after hours line to see what we should do and they said they would have the Dr call me back... they never did. I believe the on call Dr was in a cesarian. We both took a shower and I packed my hospital bag, I know last minute. The hospital is an hour and 15 min away so we decided to head out at 6am. We made a stop at Dunkin Doughnuts and on the way out of the car my flip flop broke! So, we went to CVS and Nick got me a new pair of flip flops and some pads because I was currently wearing washcloths in my underwear. We got to the hospital a little after 7 am. They hooked me up to a machine to moniter the babys heart rate and my contractions. Turns out I was having contractions I just couldn't feel them. They also checked to see if my water had broken, it had. Then they sent us to Labor and Delivery and started me on pitocen. Now I could really feel the contractions, but I decided not to have an epidural yet. I was only 2cm dilated. At 8pm I was only 4 cm dilated and EXTREMELY uncomfortable so I asked for the epidural. The anesthegiologist was in surgery and it took her almost an hour to come up. When she did I was ready to kiss her. The epidural was wonderful! It felt so weird when they put it in. I no longer had any pain. The next time they checked me I was 9 cm dilated. They gave me oxygen to keep the babys heart rate up. Around 2am I told them I felt ready to push and I was shaking and in pain because my epidural wore off. They had me hold my breath and push for 10 seconds and repeat 3x for each contraction. I was practically hyperventilating between contractions because I couldn't catch my breath. They kept telling me I was pushing great, but I didn't believe them. I thought they were just saying that to motivate me. Almost 2 hours later I pushed him out. I couldnt believe it. It was amazing. He was born 7 lbs 13 oz, 21 1/2 inches long at 4:21am on Sunday May 24th his due date. My Dr was great the nurses and staff were fantastic. We just got home the day before yesterday and we are so in love!

Two Wonderful Years

Happy anniversary! I love you more everyday!

As it turns out the traditional gift for two years of marriage is cotton. So, babe what would you like? A Q-tip? How about a diaper? We sure have plenty of those.

Almost done

Now that I am in my 40th week of pregnancy I can see the light at the end of the tunnel... I am also terrified of how Anthony is going to get out of said tunnel...

One down Nine to go!

We had our Dr. appointment on Thursday and we are one cm dilated! Woohoo! Things are beginning to start.

We also had an ultrasound. We asked the ultrasound technician to verify that Anthony is still a boy, since we haven't had a peek since 20 weeks. She confirmed that yes we are still having a boy. They estimate him to weigh 7 lbs and 15 oz... but, they did say there is a margin of error of one pound in either direction. So, he could be anywhere from 7 - 9 lbs.

can't see him?

how about now?

April 26th

My Mother in Law threw me a very classy shower at the Stroudsmoor. The buffet was delicious! Once again I forgot my camera and once again Anthony was spoiled by friends and family who gave him wonderful gifts.

I am now officially full term, I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. After the shower, having everything ready for Anthony is making Nick and I very anxious to meet our little boy!

Thank you everyone for making this a very special day!

April 5th

My parents threw us a fabulous baby shower! My Mom wrote us a poem that made me cry. I of course forgot my camera, but lucky for us my Mom's cousin Lorraine and my cousin Renee did not. Unfortunately, the photos are a little small because I had to steal them from facebook, but that's what I get for leaving the camera at home.

Anthony made out like a bandit, he received so many gifts everyone was extremely generous! I am looking foward to decorating his nursery, seeing
him in those little outfits and snuggling him with soft blankets.

The cake was gorgeous and we are so blessed that our family and friends could come spend the day to celebrate the awaited arrival of our little boy.
